The video is a series of single-frame shots flowing from one to the other. Each frame focuses on one profound element of the landscape thus highlighting it's extreme environment and profoundness. Adding to the visual experience are sounds of rainfall lightly falling, glaciers creaking and penguins pruning likely to make the viewer fall into a trance-like state. The experience is akin to a visual massage of the soul.Stan Stalnaker has effectively captured the true essence of Antarctica while giving us a deeper understanding of our vast planet and perhaps of ourselves. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone looking for a unique visual experience to share with friends or simply to enjoy alone.
